06/20/09 - Summer is Here, Lexi is so much fun!

Little miss Lexi continues to entertain us and amaze us, check out recent pictures of her at her cousin/sister’s (long story) wedding. She was the flower girl, and did a swell job (and of course looked very cute doing it).

It has taken us a while, but she is FINALLY getting potty trained. No matter what reward we tried, we found that a trip to the hot tub after was the key! We are getting water logged, but she is getting potty trained!

05/11/09 - Lexi gets 1 more year to be a preschooler

We got good news today. We had transition meeting with the school district today. Transition from pre-school to kindergarten. We have felt that socially and physically that she was not ready for kindergarten. She gets services from the district, and based on the rules she is 4 days from the kindergarten cut off, so she was to attend kindergarten this fall.

Leah has been working with the district to get her held back one year based on her early birth (4 weeks early) and her slow early development due to her transplant. Leah’s work has paid off and the district has agreed to continue to work with her for another year before she starts kindergarten. We felt that she will need little or no services with this one ‘extra’ year. The school district feels she will need services but no where near as much. No matter what, this is best for Lexi, no need to put her in ‘SSN’ like her brother has been through, seemed a bit ridiculous to us to force that instead of waiting 1 year.

03/23/09 - Ski Weekend - Health is good

Lexi went sking 2 times this weekend, she really enjoys it, check out the pics, she wanted to wear her googles non-stop.

Lexi has not hsd too much trouble with health in the last few months. She was taken off an anti-biotic in November thinking all was well and she got another uta, so she is back on it. Our guess she will stay on it for a while.

She still seems to have some visions issues...her eyes sometimes wander out of sync with one another and she sometimes seems to need to look really close at things, but overall she seems to see ok.

We also have noticed that Lexi’s physical abilities may be somewhat limited, she limps slightly and when she runs her right arm hangs, while her left arm swings a bit more normally. She is very left handed, perhaps there is reason for that.

01/19/09 - Gone Skiing

Lexi had her first ski lesson this weekend, thanks to the BOEC for taking good care of her. She has a ways to go, and she was not too happy when done but she did say she had fun!!
